SfB and OpenSIP Hybrid Registration – Polycom Trio

Polycom RealPresence Trio with UCS 5.4.5. has the hybrid registration feature, i.e. option to simultaneously register your device into a Skype for Business environment and other standard SIP platforms.

What does hybrid registration mean?

This feature allows you to use devices to make calls to Skype for Business and link phone numbers through the SIP infrastructure where your device is registered. Until now you could only use your device in one of two mentioned modes. We should note that this functionality is currently in the experimental stage. This method eliminates the need for a variety of gateway solutions that would enable making calls between platforms, which also means that customers don’t have to install two different devices in one room.

  4. Configure Line 2 and Line 3 parameters (Settings > Lines > Line 2).

Two icons will appear on the device screen, one representing Skype for Business, and the other representing a SIP environment.
